  1. what lovely colours of yarn in your photo, I especially love that dark green – is that the alpaca?

What the wonderful knitting plans you have! Sounds amazing. Especially I like the sucky thumb mitts.

  3. Hege says:

Hope you don’t run out of yarn. And the pink skein you have in the back there is beautiful!!

Rachel, do you ever sleep? I wish I had some of your energy, my goodness girl. The knitting is wonderful and I want to take a trip up there just to get my hands on that beautiful raspberry yarn.xx

    • Rachel says:

Oh I sleep alright…and my bouts of busyness are generally followed by a break to stare into space. 😉
P.S. You would never regret a trip to Nova Scotia.

I have the same reading style, I like your description of it 🙂 Makes it hard to read “heavier” books so I’ve been pretty well stuck in light, fluffy novels for a couple weeks.
Hope you have a good trip!

I hope you have a fabulous vacation full of knitting!

I love the pickles patterns – I’m sure your little girl will be pretty in pink too.
Fingers crossed for the blue yarn; although I’m sure it’ll be fine with a contrasting ribbing too. Kaya has a jumper I started in green, then had to continue in cream, and finally has a collar in pink and purple! 🙂

Oh boy! That scarf is simply gorgeous…another pattern I must make for myself (at some point). I’ve been admiring Jane Richmond’s patterns on ravelry for awhile now but never tried one out. This looks like the perfect scarf though, and I love the color you’ve chosen.

  9. The scarf keeps looking better and better. I really enjoyed knitting the pickles vest and it still fits Ella very well for this fall.

Love the sound of every one of your up and coming projects.

  13. Your projects are so inspiring! I love that little vest pattern you plan on knitting for your “yellow girl” 🙂 Have lots of fun on your vacation!

    hope your yarn lasts…

The plain vest pattern has been on my “to knit” list for a few weeks now! I am wanting to make one for my 17 month old out of some handspun yarn. It sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy on your vacation. Have a great time! 🙂

  16. Ellen says:

You will be very busy with knitting. I have some yarn from that same company you mentioned. Of course, I haven’t done anything with it yet. And I love the plain vest. That too has been on my to-do list. In fact, I’d love to make one for me!

That KAL is getting tempting I must say. And that vest…too cute, I’m casting on now! For who I have no idea, but it looks cute and quick so I’m in.

  18. Kathy says:

I think it’ll be cute to have the main mitt one color and the top ribbing in another. Great idea to make the most of the wool you have left!

  19. lori says:

lovely lovely knitting, it looks like you’ll have plenty to keep busy on your vacation. and then there is always the chance you’ll run into a newly discovered yarn shop! oh that pink!

  20. Rachel…I have no knitting post to share, just a quick hello!!! It seems you are busy in the kitchen ~ my, I am impressed. When my littlest was born last summer, I all but gave up the garden and canning except some basics. Well done! And so much knitting goodness!!! Thanks for your kind, gentle words today ~ it is just what I needed! Many hugs to you, and by the way, my husband and I were just talking about one day heading to the other side of Canada and visiting the maritimes!!! I’ve been to Nova Scotia a few times and it is breathtaking! Much love, Jules

You have so many lovely projects going on. I see you’re reading This Life is in Your Hands. I just finished it last week. I haven’t been that moved by a book in a long time. The author lives in Maine and will be visiting our local bookstore next month, and I’m really looking forward to attending that.

Your pile looks like mine! I’ve given up keeping up with it all at the moment & am going one project at a time for a while… Very jealous to hear you’re going to be heading out west again… xo
