I have to confess, I’m not a big fan of the magic loop. I tried it because I *hate* DPNs with the white-hot passion of a thousand burning suns (no exaggeration), but I found it to be almost as fiddly. I have a set of tiny circular needles (I think they are 9 inches?) and I use them to do sleeves. I will need to get the hang of DPNs eventually if I want to knit socks, I think, but in the meantime I can make sweaters without going out of my mind trying to keep track of them.

I love the color of your new puerperium. What yarn is it?

    Safe journey—xo

I learned how to magic loop before I learned how to use DPNs because all those needles intimidated the daylights out of me. I like them both. I use magic loop on items that stay in my bag and get carried around a lot, like socks.
Good luck with the sleeves – monkey or otherwise – and have a safe trip!

Oh I do love that magic loop…oh so simple. I still haven’t really found a knitting groove again, I’ve been so hooked on sewing these days. Safe travels to you and yours.

Wow, that’s a seriously long journey! Having said that I would love a sold bout of knitting time like that.

I am currently using the magic loop method on a sleeve and it is driving me crazy…too much cable getting in the way!

If casting on more projects make you happy then I say cast on as many as needed! I always have many on the go and then I can knit what I feel like knitting. Both are beautiful 🙂

You can never have too many puerperiums, I say. 🙂
Good luck with all those sleeves and safe journeys!

I love it when a new knitting trick is so much easier than it looks. Hurray for new skills.

Oh, I’ve gotten SO far from knitting with this move.
Can’t wait to hop back into one of my many unfinished projects.
    You’re inspiring me!
