  2. Erin says:

What a sweetie! You’re very wise to start knitting ahead to Christmas for that little one. while the tiny knits are precious they just don’t stay in them for very long!

  3. Heather says:

So happy for you, Rachel! Now on to colorful knits. I read The Help a bit ago and really enjoyed it. Raises a lot of interesting issues and ideas.

  4. mistea says:

Lovely yarn colour – little projects are always fun.
A good book always makes excuses – glad you are enjoying this time.

  5. Apseed says:

Happy to see that you and your family are doing weel. Colorful knitting is now more special, because it’s for special one.

  6. Theresa says:

She looks so peaceful lying in the sunshine, lovely.

  7. Kathy says:

Good idea to be knitting in larger sizes — babies grow so fast, and it’ll be nice to have something ready in the next size. I’ve got a list of Christmas projects to start working on soon — some knit, some sewn, and some beaded.

  8. Tracey says:

How beautiful she is Rachel. I know you are enjoying knitting little items for her and holding her as much as possible. I just finished the Help so I can’t wait to see what you think. xx

A friend of my mother’s is reading The Help & has promised to pass it along to me when she is done. I’m looking forward to reading it, and to hearing how you like it. xo

Quick little projects are so satisfying! Glad you’re adjusting to another little one. Loved The Help! Not sure if I really want to see the movie…they’d probably ruin the book and change the story too much.

  14. swanski says:

I have had The Help on my shelf forever, I really ought to read it, lol. I have been so wary of fiction books lately since I have had so many bad experiences! I actually won a copy of The Help in a giveaway, maybe it is time to actually read it!

  21. Great pic! I love her all curled in the sun. Does she have a name yet?

  22. Kristen says:

Thanks for the link to the soaker pattern….I think I may have to try one. Seeing your little one gets me really excited for the one we have coming in October….great photos!

  23. Wendy says:

One of my favorite things about nursing was that I suddenly had so much more time to read!

Small knits that finish quickly seem to be a great idea! I wish I had one of those…

    Beautiful sunny photo!

  26. Svenna says:

Yay for some girly knits for your sweetie. And did you say brief knitting front?? Socks, hat, diaper cover, cardie… oh well. Don’t you just love tiny baby knits!
I’m knitting a puerperium for Kaya – size 2 yr is huuuuge!!

  27. Rain says:

  28. Shirley says:

You are such an amazing mom. I’d reading your rambling thoughts…about knitting “little things.” She is such a sweet babe just like the rest.

  29. Sachi says:

I would have to agree with Shirley, you do seem amazing. Really and truly. Wow. She is looking so so pretty and aren’t plump babies the cutest?!

  30. Alisa says:

God bless you and your new baby girl! I just finished my first puerperium for my little one and i love it! That color is yummy! I also get my knitting and my reading in while nursing although my little one is almost 6 months old now and it’s getting harder to keep her chubby fists off the yarn!! happy knitting!!

  31. Corrabelle says:

Oh Rachel. Do you drink out of canning jars too? Those are my absolute favorite glasses, they never let you down!
Let me know how “the help” goes, I’ve been wanting to read that!

  32. Lydia says:

That puerperium pattern is so fun! I’m so glad I found out about it on your blog.

Your little one is so stinkin’ cute! I love coming by here and looking at her sweet photos.

  33. Cory says:

I am reading “The Help” too. I got really sucked in at about page 20. Nothing like nursing with a good book and a glass of water! (And nothing worse than forgetting the water and having to get up again to get it mid-nurse.)

  34. angelina says:

beautiful new baby. i love the peri sweater. x
