We had a great weekend in this house of jays. I love how a wonderful weekend sets us up so nicely for the new week.
We shared fun times with special friends, I tested out a couple of new recipes (forcing me, ahem, to eat a lot of chocolate), and we kept watching those birds (like many of you correctly assumed here). We polished off a giant stack of waffles while test-driving this loan from a friend (amazing!!). There was snuggling, reading, listening, and watching.
Of course there was knitting. While I didn’t get loads done, I did finish off the gaptastic and darkside cowls, finished up the body on the ongoing saga that is the tiny tea leaves and nearly completed the last ear on this poor neglected friend (you can view my notes for all these projects here). I even braved myself to snap some self-potraits modelling the cowls (ta da, photos of me).
Now our Monday is almost over and we’re rushing out the door for skating lessons.

I think your cowls (and you!) look wonderful!
What a great weekend! Your waffles look so delicious. For some reason when I make waffles, they just aren’t that great.
You look stunningly beautiful in the cowl!! as my gram would say “you look good in your grief” while eating all that chocolate. If only I could suffer with you!!
what a great weekend!!! And your self portrait was very successfsul. (I tried to take a picture of myself in a new hat this weekend, and failed miserably!!!!) Love the cowls!
Beautiful cowls and photos of the mama! The waffles look yummy. $200 waffle maker – dare I say ours is from the thrift shop. We had a lovely weekend full of game playing, hiking and reading. I have wanted to make Elijah, but never got around to it. Such a cute little elephant. (Eamon is loving Enid Blyton as well)
sounds like a fun and yummy weekend! Love the cowls.. especially that second one. Such a gorgeous color on you!!
sounds like a great weekend, especially with all that sacrificing you did to taste the chocolate 😉 and the cowls look lovely – love seeing your pretty face!
Hurray for Rachel photos! It looks like you had a lovely weekend 🙂
Chocolate and waffles…delight.
Love the cozy family on the couch picture, and
the mama with the cowl. Nice job!
Sure looks cozy – where’s Sarah? Still licking the bowl? The pattern on your navy cowl is gorgeous – great job. How’s skating going? We’re sure missing all of you and hoping winter will pass quickly. Love to all.
Waffles and chocolate and knitting… oh my! Oh yes, and birds!! What a lovely time you all are having. 🙂
Blessings, Debbie
[…] week I’ve mostly focused on the cowls I wanted to finish up (seen here). I still have four sleeves, button bands, a secret hat, and an ear to finish…but as a reward […]
Your cowls look wonderful and you look wonderful in them. Such pink rosy cheeks. Glad that you had a nice weekend…chocolate eating sounds good to me.
